Here’s the interesting thing about photography, licensing and copyrights. Photographs are automatically copyrighted with exclusive rights as soon as they are created. The copyright is in effect for the photographer’s entire life plus 70 years. The copyright pertains to the image wherever it exists including the photographer’s hard drive, and online portfolio website, or a post on your Instagram feed etc. This establishes ownership according to the Copyright Law of the United States of America.
Creative rights and ownership are fundamental for progress and economic growth of American Businesses dating back to language in the US Constitution. New ideas are protected specifically as stated by Article I, Section 8, Clause 8: [The Congress shall have Power . . . ] To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries.
Therefore, we have established a licensing program using our fulfillment partner, Fine Art America. Some of our photographs appear on their partner site, Pixels.com, in the licensing section. All Piacere images offered for sale are available for licensing. Please contact us if you find an image you want to use and is not showing a licensing option. If it's an image we sell, we will make it available. For the record, if an image does not show a Purchase Options choice, we do not sell prints or offer licensing.
